Introduction

Ko tā te kaupapa āwhina hauora nei, a Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau (MOP) he tuku pūtea mō ngā rongoā mātanga me ngā utu hōhipera nonoi. 

E wātea ana a MOP ki ngā mokopuna anake kua whakaurua, ā, e haere ana hoki ki te kōhanga reo. 

Koinei ētahi o ngā momo rongoā: 

  • Ngā utu mātanga hāpai 

  • Te pū taringa 

  • Ngā tini mate taringa, ihu, korokoro hoki 

  • Te tiaki whatu, arā, tewhakamātau me ngā mōhiti 

  • Tērā pea ka utua  ngā mahi niho, arā, ngā huhutinga ohotata e whakamahi ana i te rongoā whakarehu, mehemea ka wānanga tahitia me te kaimahi ka tohua  

The Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau (MOP) health care assistance programme provides funding for specialist treatment and / or urgent hospital costs. 

MOP is only available to mokopuna currently enrolled and attending Kōhanga Reo. 

Treatment types have included: 

  • Consultant costs 

  • Grommets 

  • Multiple ear, nose and throat ailments 

  • Eye care for testing and glasses 

  • Associated dental costs for urgent extractions requiring anaesthetic can potentially be covered following discussion with the designated kaimahi 

Tirohanga whānui

Overview

  1. Nā te Kāwanatanga i UTU KORE ai ngā ratonga hauora matua ki ngā tamariki e ono tau te pakeke, heke iho. 

  2. Ka ea i a MOP ēnei utu anake: ngā utu rongoā mātanga me ngā utu hōhipera nonoi.   

  3. Pātaihia atu tō Rata Arowhānui (RA) kia tūtohutia atu tētahi mātanga mō tō mokopuna, me te whakarato i tētahi reta ōkawa.

  4. Whakaotihia te puka kōrero Whānau - Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau, me te whakapiri i te reta ōkawa hei tirotiro mā te Kaitiaki. 

  5. Nōu ka whakaoti i tēnei tono mō tō mokopuna, me mātua tuhi tōna ingoa e mana ana ki te kōhanga reo. E kore e tutuki wawe  inā tuku ingoa kē mai.    

 

  1. The Government provides FREE primary healthcare for tamariki under 6 years old. 

  2. MOP only provide funding for specialist treatments and / or urgent hospital costs. 

  3. Ask your General Practitioner (GP) to recommend a specialist for your mokopuna and provide a formal referral letter. 

  4. Complete the Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau - Whānau information form and attach the referral letter for the Trust to review.

  5. When filling out this form for your mokopuna, use the same name that they are registered with at their Kōhanga Reo. Using different names delays the processing time.

  3. Ka arotakehia te tono e Te Tari Matua. 

    1. Ki te whakaaehia, ka tukuna te puka ki te mātanga, ā, ka whakamōhiotia te matua, te kaitiaki rānei. E hāngai ana tēnei whakaaetanga ki ngā utu o te hui tuatahi. 

    2. Ki te whakahēngia, ka whakapā atu te Tari Matua ki te matua, kaitiaki rānei, ā, ka whakamāramahia he aha i whakahēngia ai te tono. 

  1. The parent, guardian or caregiver must visit their GP with the mokopuna to obtain a specialist referral. 

  2. The parent, guardian or caregiver completes the Mokopuna Oranga Pūmau - Whānau information form, attaches the referral letter and submits this for the Trust to review.

  3. The Trust will review the application.

    1. If approved, the application will be forwarded onto the specialist and the parent, guardian or caregiver will be advised. This approval is for the costs associated with the initial visit in the first instance. 

    2. If not approved, the Trust will contact the parent, guardian or caregiver and advise as to why the application was declined.

Hui tuatahi

Initial Visit

  1. The specialist sends the appointment time to the parent, guardian or caregiver at their home address. They should not contact the Kōhanga Reo. 

  2. The invoice for the initial visit should be sent to the Trust for payment. 

  3. The Trust will only pay funds into authorised accounts. 

  4. All queries must be directed to the Trust at [email protected].

Treatment

  1. Ā muri i te hui tuatahi me tuku te mātanga i ētahi atu anō taipitopito e pā ana ki te mahere rongoā me ngā utu e hāngai ana. Ka tukua ngā taipitopito ki [email protected]. 

  2. Ka arotakehia e te Tari Matua ngā utu e hāngai ana ki te mahere whai rongoā: 

    1. Ki te whakaaetia, mā te Tari Matua e whakaū tahi me te matua, kaitiaki rānei, me te mātanga hoki. Ka oti i te mātanga tāna mahi, kua tukua te nama me te utu i whakaaehia hei whakaea mā te Tari Matua. 

    2. Ki te whakahēngia, ka whakapā atu te Tari Matua ki te matua, kaitiaki rānei, ā, ka whakamāramahia he aha e kore ai e utua ngā nama o te mahere rongoā. 

  3. I te mutunga mai o te rongoā mātanga, o te noho hōhipera rānei, me tuku katoa ngā nama hei whakaea mā te Tari Matua.  

  1. After the initial visit, the specialist must provide the Trust with further details about the treatment plan and the associated costs. Details are sent to [email protected]. 

  2. The Trust reviews the associated costs for the treatment plan: 

    1. If approved, the Trust will confirm this with the parent, guardian or caregiver, and with the specialist. The specialist completes the treatment and invoices the Trust for the approved cost. 

    2. If not approved, the Trust will contact the parent, guardian or caregiver and advise as to why the treatment costs won’t be covered. 

  3. At the conclusion of the specialist treatment or hospitalisation, ensure that the remaining accounts are forwarded to the Trust for payment. 

Me mātua whakamana rawa e te Tari Matua ngā mātanga katoa i mua i te pokanga. 

All specialists must be approved by the Trust before any surgery can be carried out.
