Whakamana Whānau Matihiko
Empowering whānau in the digital space
Purpose
Whakamana Whānau Matihiko is a series of focused workshops to help whānau build confidence using EDGE and Smartly. The sessions provide hands-on support so information is entered accurately and reporting is completed with confidence.
Background
Across the motu, different levels of confidence using EDGE and Smartly have led to inconsistencies in how information is entered and reported. These workshops are designed to close those gaps with guided, practical support.
Kaupapa overview
Two core system areas have been identified for focused support:
Pay Parity
We will walk through the Pay Parity checklist step by step, with guidance to help whānau complete each part correctly. This content is informed by the 2025 audit findings of the Trust’s Pay Parity system.
Kaupapa funding
We will also support whānau to confidently navigate EDGE, including new additions to the system. This checklist is informed by recent Roll Audit results.
Workshop delivery plan
Each workshop is a 3-hour, hands-on session. Trust Kaiwhakarite-ā-Rohe and the Kaupapa Funding teams will be on hand to support and district kaimahi for each rohe will also attend. These sessions are best suited to intermediate to advanced users and are designed for people already responsible for this mahi at kōhanga.
One tablet will be provided per kōhanga. We ask that the person attending is the person responsible for this mahi, attends the full session and takes the tablet back with them at the end. To keep things fair and secure, tablets can only be issued to the person attending, and will not be held at Tari-ā-Rohe. Any tablets not allocated on the day will be returned to the Trust Tari Matua.
