Te whānau o TKR o te Kohao o te Ngira, we are seeking to employ a skilled and experienced Kaiako for our Tamariki mokopuna. Licensed for 35 tamariki, we currently have a full whare. Based in Kirikiriroa, Waikato.
Key responsibilities:
- Create, design,plan and implement a learning plan that aligns with Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo.
- Guide all kaimahi in the development of the learning plan.
- Oversee all kaimahi and their professional development.
- Be responsible for the overall quality care provided to the mokopuna.
- Uphold the kōhanga policies, rules and procedures outlined in Te Tūtohinga.
- Ensure mokopuna safety is paramount.
- Support a working relationship between kaimahi, mokopuna and whānau.
- Provide appropriate support and guidance and training to all kaimahi who work with mokopuna.
Essential criteria:
- Kia matatau ake i te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
Be competent with Te Reo Māori across a broad range of subjects and experiences that will help our tamariki to develop their own language skills.
- Kua whai tohu i raro i te korowai o Te Kōhanga Reo.
Currently hold a Tohu Whakapakari Tino Rangataritanga/ Te Tohu Paetahi.
- Kua whai tohu whawhati tata.
Current First Aid or the ability to obtain.
- Kua whai raihana pirihimana mo te haumarutanga o te mokopuna.
Clear and current police vetting as part of the safety check requirements or the ability to obtain.
- Kua mārama ake ki te hohonutanga me te whānuitanga o Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo.
Demonstrates experience or the deep understanding of Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo.
- Kua mārama ki ngā tikanga, ki ngā kawa whakahaere katoa o te kaupapa.
Extensive understanding and knowledge of Te Kaupapa o Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Korowai, Te Tūtohinga and Te Ara Tūāpae.
- Whakanuia te whakawhanaungatanga me te manaakitanga i roto i te whānau.
Experience and skills in negotiation, relationship management and whānau engagement and consultation.
- Kia toru tau koe e mahi ana i roto i te kōhanga reo.
Minimum of 3 years experience in this position.
Work days and hours:
- Mon - Fri
- 8am – 3:30pm
- Start and finish times negotiable
