Tari/Kaiawhina to join our whanau at Manu Korero Te Kohanga Reo. As a Kaiwhakarite
Tari/Kaiawhina,you will take care of general administration, record keeping, enrolments, payroll and reporting tasks. You will also play a vital role in supporting the early education of our tamariki learning, nurturing, culturally rich and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
● Must hold a Te Ara Tohu o Te Kohanga Reo or willing to work towards obtaining
● Knowledge and or fluency in Te Reo Maori and tikanga maori.
● Familiarity Tutohinga, Te Ara Tuapae, Te Korowai and Te Whariki.
● Coordinate communications with whānau, kaimahi, and external agencies.
● Assist in the preparation and management of financial records, budgets, and reports
● Support the planning and organization of events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
● Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
● Provide general office support to kaimahi as needed.
● Interested in up-skilling through the Kohanga Kaupapa, passionate to learn and explore alongside our Tamariki.
● Able to engage actively and work with Tamariki.
● Must be punctual, reliable, trustworthy and show initiative.
● Assist in delivering the Kohanga Reo curriculum and providing a safe, nurturing environment for tamariki.
● Work closely with tamariki, supporting their learning and development.
● Ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for tamariki, whānau, and other kaimahi.
● Will need to be police vetted before employment can commence.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and qualifications or be working towards obtaining them:
● Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software (e.g., Word, Excel).
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environment.
● Experience in office administration or a similar role (preferably in an educational setting).
● A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well with others.
● Current First Aid certificate or would be willing to work towards one.
● A genuine passion for working with tamariki and supporting Maori language and culture.
● Knowledge and understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Reo Maori.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
● Previous experience in early childhood education is desirable, but not essential.

considered for this position.
