About the role
As a Kaiwhakarite (Administrator) at Te Kohanga Reo o Raurimu, you will play a vital role in nurturing mokopuna (children) within a culturally rich, immersive environment. Your responsibilities will include supporting the Kaiako (teachers) to enhance learning experiences, promoting te reo Māori and tikanga, and ensuring the daily operations run smoothly. You will maintain a safe and engaging space for tamariki while fostering strong relationships with whanau to encourage their involvement in our hapori.
In this role, you will empower mokopuna and their whanau by providing resources and support that help them thrive. Your engagement with the community and commitment to upholding our kaupapa will be crucial in shaping the cultural identity and language skills of our tamariki. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the next generation while working in a passionate and supportive team.
Job Requirements
To excel as a Kaiwhakarite, you should possess a strong understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga, along with relevant qualifications in early childhood education. Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly within a Māori immersion context, is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build positive relationships with mokopuna, kaimahi (staff), and whanau, fostering a collaborative environment.
