Te Kōhanga Reo o Taniwaka is situated in the heart of Tamaki Nui A Rua. We have a current role of 32 Mokopuna 11 under 2s and 21 over 2s with the capacity to have 36. Te Kōhanga Reo o Taniwaka whānau whakahaere are seeking to employ a skilled and experience Kaiako Matua.

Te Kōhanga Reo: Te Kōhanga Reo o Taniwaka
Key responsibilities:
- Create, prepare and implement a Learning Plan that aligns with Te Whāriki o Te Kōhanga Reo.
- Guide Kaimahi in the development of the learning plan
- Oversee kaimahi and their professional development
- Be responsible for the overall quality care provided to mokopuna
- Uphold the Kōhanga policies, rules and procedures set out in Te Tūhohinga
- Ensure mokopuna safety is paramount
- Support a working relationship between Kaimahi, mokopuna and Whānau
- Provide appropriate support and guidance and training to all kaimahi who work with mokopuna
Essential criteria:
- Fluency in Te reo, Tikanga me ngā āhuatanga Māori
- Te Tohu Matauranga Whakapakari Tino Rangatira o Te Kōhanga Reo
- Current First aid or the ability to obtain
- Clear and current police vetting as part of the safety check requirements
- Demonstrates experience and deep understanding of Te Whāriki ā te Kōhanga Reo
- Extensive understanding and knowledge of Te Kōhanga Reo kaupapa, Te Korowai, Te Tuhohinga me te Ara Tūāpae
- Experience and skills in negotiation, relationship management and whānau engagement and consultation
- Minimum of 9 years experience as a Kaiako In Te Kōhanga Reo.
Work days and hours:
- Monday – Friday 40hours. Start and end times can be negotiated.
We seek an enthusiastic and strong willed Kaiako Matua to support and grow our Mokopuna, Kaimahi and Whānau to be more enriched in the kaupapa of Te Kōhanga Reo.
