About the role 

POSITION: Kaiawhina 

Essential criteria 

The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes: 

• Must hold a Te Ara Tohu o Te Kōhanga Reo or willing to work towards obtaining
• Knowledge or fluency in Te Reo Maori and the Kaupapa
• Familiar with Te Ara Tūāpae, Te Korowai and Te Whāriki.
• Has a current First Aid certificate or willing to work towards obtaining
• Driver’s License, Full preferably or willing to work towards
• Ability to pass police vetting or have current through TKRNT.
• Available for early starts to accompany the waka run daily.
• Interested in up skilling through the Kōhanga Kaupapa, passionate to learn and explore alongside our Mokopuna.
• Able to work effectively as a team player within a team environment.
• Able to engage actively and work with Mokopuna.
• Must be punctual, reliable, trustworthy and shows initiative.
• Able to do Mahere Ako and have excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

Work days and hours

HOURS: 40 hrs per week 8:00 am – 4:00 pm – 5 days a week 

Remuneration 

Dependant on qualifications and experience
