Responsibilities
Under the guidance of Lead Kaiako the Kaiako is expected to support in the care, learning and supervision of all mokopuna and whānau of Whaingaroa Te Kōhanga Reo.
They may also be expected to fulfil the Lead Kaiako.position in the absence of Lead Kaiako.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Fluency in Te Reo, tikanga me ngā āhuatanga Māori
- Clear and current Police Vetting
- Demonstrates understanding of Te Whāriki ā Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Kōhanga Reo Kaupapa, Te Korowai, Te Tūtohinga me Te Ara Tūāpae
- A current First Aid certificate
- At least five years’ experience as a Kaimahi in Kōhanga Reo/ECE
- Has the ability to recognise the significance of learning opportunities in the taiao including te ngahere, moana, community, hapu, iwi.
