I tū he rā whakauru mokopuna ki te rawhiti o Tāmaki Makaurau ki te rohe o Ruapotaka. He kaupapa hei whakuru i ngā tamariki mokopuna ki rō whare kōhungahunga, Kōhanga reo.
Ruapotaka Marae played host the community of Panmure, Mt Wellington. It was an opportunity for whānau to have and tamariki to have some fun, while thinking about enrolling their children into Kōhanga.
The event was organised by the Purapura o Te Tomiro, and was only one of a series of events over the month, activities ranged from walking the streets, and holding stalls at weekend markets as well as a mokopuna day. 12 new children signed up and a great day was had by all.
A highlight of the occasion was that each Kōhanga ran a booth that explained the 4 pou of Kōhanga reo and gave opportunity for kaimahi to inform whānau and the community about what Kōhanga reo was all about and why they should be part of it.
