Ko te reo he taonga ko te mokopuna te tino taonga.
Over the last few months Purapura from Te Taitokerau hosted 2 rohe events , with other Kōhanga Reo throughout Te Taitokerau. The first event was hosted by Taumarere Purapura at Otiria Marae, on the outside stage. He Rā Mokotini was the kaupapa where our mokopuna held kapa haka event for the whānau and community.
It was a beautiful day for all mokopuna and Kaumātua as well as whānau to enjoy. It was well attended, and the participation by Kōhanga Reo and mokopuna of the area was awesome.

Rawene Hospital is the only hospital in Aotearoa that is owned by the people of Hokianga. It is for this reason that the people of Hokianga to get together to fundraise the shortfall of any funding it receives.
The Hokianga Copthorne half marathon is one of these fundraisers. Our Kōhanga Whānau fully supported putting a team in, not only to tautoko the hospital but to also promote the Kaupapa of Kōhanga Reo and support Mana Pou Tuku iho.
The marathon was 22km & Kaimahi and Mātua pushed our bubbas the full distance. The Kōhanga also sponsored the Rawene Golf Clubs hospital fundraiser 3 weeks later.
